Twenty five miles off the coast of Southern California lies Santa Cruz Island, the largest of California's eight Channel Islands. Most of the island was purchased by the Nature Conservancy in 1978. For three decades they have been working tirelessly to restore the island and preserve its unique plant and animal species.

Santa Cruz Island is a leading example of successful island restoration and innovative conservation, which the Nature Conservancy hosts visitors to see and experience frist hand.
