On the outskirts of a growing community resides a unique, welcoming, and forward-thinking development. Discovery Plaza embodies the spirit of Bend and takes inspiration from the natural features that make it an outdoor enthusiast’s dream.
The clients desired a plaza that meet the internal needs of the developed community while being a center for seasonal events. Natural materials were proposed throughout the design linking the context of the surrounding landscape while mimicking the laid-back outdoor lifestyle.
Planting selections emphasize seasonal change and the addition of landscape mounds creates an intimate plaza setting for visitor use. Discovery Plaza is well planned to host food trucks, farmers’ markets, and outdoor concerts that will become a cultural hub for generations to come.
