saN JOSE FIRE STATION NO.35

USGBC LEED ® Silver Certification

Jim Duffy was the lead designer, project manager and architect for this 12,400 SF, two-company, three-apparatus bay battalion station. The two-story station design is based on the prototype battalion station from the Fire Facilities Program that Candice and Jim developed for the San Jose Fire Department. The design team worked together with the City to achieve USGBC LEED Silver certification, exceeding the City’s certification requirements. The Station was built on the corner of an existing community center which remained fully operational throughout construction.
This stations serves the City’s Edenvale neighborhood, and reduces the response time to one of the City’s most culturally diverse area.
