sacramento fire station no.30

Station 30 is a 12,550 SF prototype station in the Natomas residential development. A one-story building with three drive-through apparatus bays and one back-in BC bay, the station will house two companies with nine firefighters, two captains, and one battalion chief. There is on-site fueling and emergency power for entire facility. The interior uses a traditional floor plan design and the exterior design responds to the unique characteristics of the surrounding planned development with a high-end residential and mixed-use commercial neighborhood. Site challenges included concurrent implementation with Sacramento Fire Station No. 20, under one general contractor, allowing the City of Sacramento to occupy two new fire stations within a condensed schedule and to better control general conditions, costs, and schedule..
