The 8,000 SF single company fire station is situated on a 10-acre parcel that includes a neighborhood park. The project was an important and eagerly anticipated one for the neighboring residents. Jim and Candice actively included the residents participation in the design process with a Community Workshop where community members were invited to cast their votes on what style of architecture they would like to see in the design of the fire station.

While not a LEED® certified project, sustainable design and energy conservation measures were incorporated into the project by means such as the orientation of the building, deep overhangs for protection from the valley sun and an innovative mechanical system that results in 50% energy savings.
